Vacancy: Area Sales Manager

The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a successful company working with a small professional team selling a long-established range of shrink-wrapping machinery and associated equipment.

Working mainly out of our site in Nelson, the role will cover the East of the UK (from Leicester to Northern Scotland) managing and developing our existing customer accounts, but more importantly focussed upon new business from sales leads that are generated internally through various marketing sources.

The role will see you selling machinery to a variety of interesting and buoyant market sectors in an area that is currently exceeding target.

Adequate training will be provided (where required), including product knowledge and practical experience using our extensive range of stock machinery.

The Person
This position would suit a candidate with previous technical experience of similar machinery, some knowledge of the market and you will ideally have already enjoyed some exposure to a field sales environment.

You will be inquisitive by nature, intelligent, articulate, well presented and be able to pro-actively plan ahead.

You must be able to negotiate at all levels within a business, be motivated, enthusiastic and to be able to work as part of a team. Some knowledge of Microsoft Office is required. You must hold a valid UK driving licence.

The main duties and responsibilities will involve:

1. Act as a point of contact for an existing and new customer portfolio.
2. Develop effective geographical call plans.
3. Pro-actively grow customer portfolio
4. Forecast sales targets
5. Attend meetings, trainings, exhibitions, seminars and other sales events
6. Responsible for own KPI’s and increasing company profitability
